Through his outstanding leadership service, David Marcus has advanced the science, practice, and training of psychology nationally and internationally.

A member of the Council of University Directors of Clinical Psychology board of directors for three years, David helped set the national agenda for graduate education and field training, improved equity and access for clinical psychology internships, and implemented a standardized reference form.

During his six years as editor of Group Dynamics, he increased the diversity of the editorial board and expanded both global submissions and global readership.

Currently, David is a member of the editorial board for five different journals, and he is starting his second term on the American Psychological Association’s Commission on Accreditation—a national service role in which he helps promote consistent quality and excellence in education and training in health service psychology.

David also participates in service to the department and the University, consistently emerging as a leader in these contexts as well.

A superb scientist with an incredibly inquisitive mind and a sharp eye for detail, David is a remarkable professional representative for his discipline, the college, and WSU.
