Faculty Comments

“My experiences with Avary have been so positive that I recruited her to be an in-class teaching assistant for the spring 2021 semester. Avary’s conscientiousness, timeliness, understanding of statistics, and attention to detail were qualities of a lead TA that I couldn’t pass up. The lead TA position requires interfacing with faculty, graduate students, and fellow undergraduate TAs. She was amazing in this position.” –Dr. Dee Posey

Personal Statement

“Having been a student here at WSU, I can safely say I never imagined I would be graduating as the 2022 Outstanding Senior for the Department of Psychology. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude to have been selected for this honor. I’d like to thank my family and friends for whom I’ve derived the strength and courage to chase my dreams. Thank you to my fiancé, for standing by me throughout this crazy adventure that is ‘College.’ You inspire me to face the world with boldness and challenge every expectation. Dr. Posey, thank you for being the most phenomenal professor. Your dedication to your students is tireless and this award would not have been possible without your confidence in me. Lastly, thank you to the Department of Psychology and WSU. Undoubtedly, my time at this university has more than prepared me for whatever comes next. I will treasure the memories I have made here for the rest of my life. No matter what the next chapter brings, I’ll always find my way back home. GO COUGS!”
