Christine Horne, professor, sociology, authored “The conditionality of norms: The case of bridewealth” in Social Psychology Quarterly; and “Explaining Support for Renewable Energy: Commitments to Self-Sufficiency and Communion” in Environmental Politics. She also co-authored “How can consumer trust in energy utilities be increased? The effects of prosocial, proenvironmental, and service-oriented investments” in Organizations and Environment.

Lindsey Beltz, doctorate student, and Jennifer Schwartz, professor, sociology, presented “Trends in Female and Male Drunk Driving Prevalence over Thirty Years: Triangulating Diverse Sources of Evidence” during the section on Sociology of Alcohol, Drugs and Tobacco at the American Sociological Association Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.

Don Dillman.Don Dillman, Regents professor, sociology, was appointed by the Committee for National Statistics of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine to a steering committee for conducting a workshop on improving the American Community Survey. Dillman also was a guest professor at the Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences (GESIS) In Mannheim, Germany; and he was an invited facilitator for the Australian Bureau of Statistics’s Workshop on Improving Data Collection Practices held in Melbourne.
