Emily Huddart KennedyEmily Huddart Kennedy, assistant professor, sociology, coauthored “Putting Sustainability into Practice: Applications and Advances” in Study of Sustainable Consumption (Edward Elgar Publishing); and “Gendered citizenship and the individualization of environmental responsibility: Evaluating a campus common reading program” in Environmental Education Research.

Sociology

Alair MacLeanAlair MacLean, associate professor, sociology, WSU Vancouver, was elected chair of the American Sociological Association section on Peace, War and Social Conflict. She presented several papers at the ASA and Society for the Study of Social Problems annual meetings in Seattle, including “Historical Changes in the Context and Impact of Military Service” and “Started from the Bottom: Globalization, Welfare, and Cross-National Variation in Poverty and Inequality.”

Sociology

Don DillmanDon Dillman, Regents professor, sociology, was named a national associate of the National Research Council, the operating arm of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, in recognition of his service to the academies. Dillman also recently received the American Sociological Association’s 2016 Lazarsfeld Award for a career of distinguished contributions to the field of sociological methodology.
