I want first to thank all the women who came before me. When I look back at the gender stereotypes of history, I see my success is only possible due to the women who endured inequality allowing us to be where we are today. I am amazed and empowered. Thank you to my family for always believing in me and encouraging me and to my friends who made WSU feel at home; I am forever grateful. A huge thank you to the faculty and advisors who were committed to helping me reach my goals. Lastly, I want to thank those in the African American Student Center for being my virtual family and continuing to support me and mold me during these uncertain times due to the global pandemic. This award wouldn’t be possible without each one of you.
