Fulmer Complex

A multifaceted setting for the multifaceted Department of Chemistry

Now you know…

  • The Fulmer complex is actually four connected facilities: the original Fulmer Hall, Fulmer Annex, Fulmer Synthesis, & an underground vibration-free laboratory hidden below the concrete plaza.
  • The Fulmer 226 classroom is affectionately known as The Pit
  • Look for artistic elements in the original building: ornamental roundels illustrating chemistry themes along the top exterior & on the walls inside the main entrance.
  • The building is named for Elton Fulmer, a nationally renowned chemistry professor (1893–1916), who helped write the state’s consumer protection pure food laws.
