Fulmer Complex
A multifaceted setting for the multifaceted Department of Chemistry.
Now you know…
- The Fulmer complex is actually four connected facilities: the original Fulmer Hall, Fulmer Annex, Fulmer Synthesis, & an underground vibration-free laboratory hidden below the concrete plaza.
- The Fulmer 226 classroom is affectionately known as The Pit.
- Look for artistic elements in the original building: ornamental roundels illustrating chemistry themes along the top exterior & on the walls inside the main entrance.
- The building is named for Elton Fulmer, a nationally renowned chemistry professor (1893–1916), who helped write the state’s consumer protection pure food laws.
