The Saigon Wind Ensemble and guest artists from Washington State University (USA) will perform at a “Wind music from around the world” concert at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music at 7:30 p.m. on May 27.

Through the remarkable wind ensemble repertoire from European dances and American movies, spectators can listen to wind music of different cultures from around the world.

The concert features invited horn artist Dr. Martin King, clinical assistant professor of horn and music education and coordinator of the Instrumental Music Education program at WSU; and percussionist and conductor Dr. Troy Bennefield, associate director of bands and director of athletic bands at WSU. Guest conductor Danh Pham and the Saigon Wind Ensemble will perform some pieces from the soundtracks of Star Wars, composed by John Williams. Pham is assistant professor of music and director of bands at WSU. He conducts the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and serves as the Coordinator of Instrumental Music Education within the WSU School of Music and is a liaison to the College of Education.
