Speak with your supervisor regarding approved release time to complete training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WSU Online Safety Training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Log into <a href=\"https:\/\/wsu.percipio.com\/\">Percipio<\/a> using your WSU NID and password<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Search for \u201csafety\u201d in the search field at the top of the page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find <em>Safety Training for WSU Employees<\/em> in the search results and follow the link<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Here you will find all seven of the required safety training courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Personal Protective Equipment Fundamentals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slips, Trips, and Falls<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Back Safety and Injury Prevention<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency and Fire Preparedness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portable Fire Extinguisher Safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Asbestos Awareness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Office Ergonomics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/hrs.wsu.edu\/training\/skillsoft-percipio\/percipio-faqs\/\">WSU Percipio FAQ<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Employees<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Supervisors are required to complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/policies.wsu.edu\/prf\/documents\/2017\/10\/2-16-safety-orientation-checklist.pdf\/\"><em>Safety Orientation Checklist<\/em><\/a> with new employees on their first day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Enroll<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/wsu.percipio.com\/\">WSU Percipio<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you do not see the selected course, enter the course title in the search bar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For instructor-led courses, if there are no session available, save the course to your personal learning plan or add it to your watchlist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Unit-Specific Needs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CAS areas may require special subject-matter training beyond the courses listed above. Every unit must provide supplemental training to faculty, staff, and students which addresses safety topics unique to their school, department, or research area, and its specific work environments.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-column wsu-color-background--gray-5\"  style=\"\">\r\n\t\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading wsu-font-size--large\">Supervisor Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All supervisors are required to complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/policies.wsu.edu\/prf\/documents\/2017\/10\/2-16-safety-orientation-checklist.pdf\/\"><em>Safety Orientation Checklist<\/em><\/a> with new employees during their first day on the job (<a href=\"https:\/\/policies.wsu.edu\/prf\/index\/manuals\/safety-policies-procedures-manual\/sppm-2-16\">SPPM 2.16<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supervisors are required to provide appropriate safety training in a timely manner for new employees and for current employees assigned new tasks or transferred to new work environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supervisors are required to re-train employees as necessary.
