MA Student Achievement-Social Sciences

Purpose

Recognizes and honors master’s students in the social sciences disciplines for outstanding academic performance, achievements in research, scholarly, and/or creative activity, and contributions or service to their academic unit, the college, and Washington State University.

Criteria

Outstanding academic performance, strong scholarly and/or creative productivity, interdisciplinary research and/or collaborations, service, and professional growth during graduate studies at WSU.

Specific Eligibility

Students enrolled in a master’s degree program offered by the Department of Anthropology, Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, School of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs, or the Department of Sociology and who are on track to complete their degree in 2026 (spring, summer, or fall).

All nomination packets must include the following materials:

  • Nominee’s Curriculum Vitae
  • Expected Date of Graduation
  • Expected Degree
  • Nomination Letter (Limit of one page)

A broad description of why the nominee is deserving of the award. Cite specific examples of relevant accomplishments, publications, and recognition. Focus on the impact of the nominee’s work within the discipline, unit, across the institution, and/or on students as appropriate.
