Postdoctoral Researcher Achievement

Purpose

Recognizes postdoctoral researchers who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in research, scholarship, creative activity, or teaching while at WSU.

Criteria

A record of outstanding research, scholarship, creative activity, or teaching accomplishments and evidence of a growing disciplinary, national, or international recognition in the academic community. Nominees will be evaluated on their body of work since starting at WSU.

Specific Eligibility

Individuals who are within the first four years of their initial date of appointment as a Washington State University Postdoctoral Research Associate and who have had a professional career of eight years or less following completion of a terminal degree (PhD or as appropriate).

Required Materials

All nomination packets must include the following materials:

  • Nominee’s Curriculum Vitae
  • Date of first faculty appointment at WSU
  • Nomination Letter (Limit of one page)

A broad description of why the nominee is deserving of the award. Cite specific examples of relevant accomplishments, publications, and recognition. Focus on the current and future impact of the nominee’s work within the discipline, across the institution, in external communities, or on students as appropriate. Include external recognition of note.
