Public and Community Engagement

Purpose

Recognizes faculty or staff who have demonstrated sustained efforts to connect their research, scholarship, creative activity, or teaching directly to the public and communities our university serves.

Criteria

A record of developing impactful collaborations with communities outside of Washington State University.  Preference for engagement that pursues direct and equitable partnerships rather than simply public visibility.  Nominees will be evaluated on their body of work since arriving at WSU.

Specific Eligibility

Full-time faculty and staff, regardless of rank.

Required Materials

All nomination packets must include the following materials:

  • Nominee’s Curriculum Vitae
  • Date of first appointment at WSU
  • Nomination Letter (Limit of one page)

A broad description of why the nominee is deserving of the award. Cite specific examples of relevant accomplishments and recognition. Award-specific criteria are listed above.
