Excellence in Equity and Outreach Award

Purpose

Recognizes faculty or staff involved in innovative or exemplary activities who have an impact in the college, broader campus, or in the community that emphasize, prioritize, and are informed by the principles of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility.

Criteria

Documented evidence demonstrating a significant and/or sustained record in promoting inclusion, diversity, equity, and access that furthers the college’s mission, impacts the community, and/or has a positive impact on personnel or programs within and outside of academic units, the college and University.

Specific Eligibility

Any full-time faculty of any rank or staff in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Required Materials

All nomination packets must include the following materials:

  • Nominee’s Curriculum Vitae
  • Date of first faculty appointment at WSU
  • Nomination Letter (Limit of one page)

A broad description of why the nominee is deserving of the award. Cite specific examples of relevant accomplishments, publications, and recognition. Focus on the positive impact of the nominee’s work on relevant units, committees, and initiatives, highlighting where appropriate not only individual accomplishments but also the nominee’s ability to make the work of colleagues more effective.
