How your gifts made an impact in 2025-2026:
The Pollart Center launched the Interdisciplinary Connections Luncheon series in partnership with the Office of Research to break down disciplinary silos, build community and create new research opportunities among WSU faculty. More than 30 faculty came to the first gathering, from a wide range of disciplines. Faculty were asked to share their research interests and ideas in an informal way by scribbling on post-it notes. By the end of the lunch, the walls were covered in notes full of ideas, questions, and possible collaborations. The Excellence Fund support paid for the food, which made these lunches an easy, welcoming place to connect. Because the format worked so well, and the spirit of collaboration the luncheon helped foster continues to reverberate, the Center is bringing the luncheon back this year.
