CAS student and former president of ASWSU Spokane, Lindsey Schaffer will take her student government skills to the next level during her yearlong term as student regent on the WSU Board of Regents. Also in the Honors College, Lindsey is working toward a degree in basic medical sciences and Spanish while working on her doctor of pharmacy degree in the College of Pharmacy.

First-come, first-served evening concerts are scheduled for all three days of the festival; workshops and school outreach programs are scheduled for Friday; and Sunday’s free outdoor festival includes food, performances, a beer garden, and family-friendly art activities.

A study led by Washington State University researchers has turned a fairly common nonmetallic solvent into a superconductor capable of transmitting electrical current with none of the resistance seen in conventional conductors.
“It is an important discovery that will attract a lot of attention from many scientific communities – physics, chemistry and materials science,” said Choong-Shik Yoo, a professor in chemistry and in the Institute for Shock Physics. The National Science Foundation-funded discovery, which grows out of research by Yoo doctoral student Ranga Dias, appears in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
