College of Arts and Sciences

Thank you for your continued support of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Your contribution to this unrestricted fund plays a pivotal role in empowering our college to excel in academic pursuits, foster innovation, and provide transformative opportunities for our students, faculty, and staff. With your support, we can continue to make a lasting impact on education, research, and the overall experience of everyone within our community.

Below are just a few examples of the work our excellence fund had accomplished last year.  We look forward to keeping you informed about the positive outcomes and achievements that your generosity helps us realize.

Thank you once again for your belief in our mission and being an essential part of our work. With sincere appreciation, GO COUGS!

  • Mental Health First Aid Training
Mental health concerns can play a large role in the lives of our students, impacting their performance in the classroom and limiting their sense of genuine belonging. We are working to ensure students have more support when they first seek it. As part of an overall mental health strategy, we’re funding cohorts of faculty and staff to take nationally recognized “Mental Health First Aid” training. That training prepares people to be mental health “first responders,” ensuring that the people who see our students regularly – our faculty and advisors – will be better equipped to help them when stressors threaten to become overwhelming.
  • Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Conference
As part of our land-grant mission, we’re redoubling our efforts to make sure students from all of our communities have access to education, and that we bring the best and brightest to Pullman regardless of their backgrounds. Your funding helped enable faculty, advisors, and other CAS recruiters to attend this conference that advance Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science.
  • CAS faculty and staff awards
The dedication and excellence of our faculty and staff are recognized through the CAS awards, acknowledging their significant contributions to the college community.
