Candice Goucher, professor, history, WSU Vancouver, received the Chancellor’s Award for Research Excellence.
Roger Chan, instructor, history, received the WSU Office of Undergraduate Education 2017 Learning Communities Excellence Award.
Lydia Gerber, clinical associate professor, history, received the Associated Students of Washington State University’s 2017 Exceptional Professor Award for the Honors College.
Alair MacLean, associate professor, sociology, WSU Vancouver, was elected chair of the American Sociological Association section on Peace, War and Social Conflict. She presented several papers at the ASA and Society for the Study of Social Problems annual meetings in Seattle, including “Historical Changes in the Context and Impact of Military Service” and “Started from the Bottom: Globalization, Welfare, and Cross-National Variation in Poverty and Inequality.”

Doug Juneau, academic coordinator, sociology, and academic technology coordinator, dean’s office, received an “Outstanding Achievement in Academic Advising” award from the WSU chapter of the Academic Advising Association.
