Clif Stratton, assistant professor, history, was named to receive the President’s Distinguished Teaching Award for Instructors and Clinical Faculty at WSU Showcase 2019.
Diane Gillespie, professor emeritus, English, was named to receive the Emeritus Society Legacy of Excellence Award at WSU Showcase 2019.
Kayo Niimi, instructor, languages, cultures, and race, received the United Greek Council’s Outstanding Faculty Member Award at the 2018 Arete Awards presented by the WSU Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life.
Ken Faunce, instructor, history, and Ashley Boyd, assistant professor, and Susan Ross, professor, English, individually received WSU Samuel H. and Patricia W. Smith Teaching and Learning awards. Dee Posey, clinical associate professor, and Janet Peters, clinical assistant professor, psychology, were jointly awarded.
Sergey Lapin, clinical associate professor, mathematics and statistics, received an Arete Outstanding Faculty Award from the WSU Greek community: Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Association, and United Greek Association.
Sheryl DeShields, secretary senior, psychology, received the WSU Crimson Spirit Award.

Sue Peabody, professor, history, received a fellowship through the WSU Office of Research 2018 Arts and Humanities Fellowship Program for her project “Gender and Colonialism Humanities Symposium.”
Carol Siegel, professor, English, WSU Vancouver, received a fellowship through the WSU Office of Research 2018 Arts and Humanities Fellowship Program for her monograph project, “Sexed, Raced, and Erased: Jews in Contemporary Visual Media.”
