Nathan Baker is a Partner Architect for Quantum Applications at Microsoft, where he leads efforts to demonstrate the real-world impact of quantum computing, AI, and high-perfor-mance computing. He previously held scientific leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, where he served as a Laboratory Fellow, and at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, where he was an Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics. He earned his PhD in physical chem-istry from the University of California, San Diego, working at the intersection of chemistry and applied mathematics. Dr. Baker is a member of the Washington State Academy of Sci-ences, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and a former Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow, recognized for contributions to computational biophysics. He is committed to advancing the combined power of quantum algorithms, AI, and cloud HPC to tackle complex scientific and societal challenges.
