Varies, depending on Student Application.
Requirements
- 2.5 GPA and above
- Must have submitted an application to their selected study abroad program AND be committed and enrolled into chosen study abroad program for disbursement of funds. Candidates may apply prior to program acceptance date for scholarship consideration.

Deadlines
- Fall Travel – March 15
- Spring & Spring Break Travel – October 1 (extended to October 31st for Spring 2025 & Spring Break 2025)
- Summer Travel – January 15
Application Details
Students must submit an application by 5:00 PM of the deadline dates listed above to be eligible for scholarships for their requested term.
The application will ask four essay questions. Please be prepared to answer these questions upon application submission:
- Have you traveled abroad before? If so, what was the reason? What did you learn? (limit 500 characters)
- Why did you select the program you have chosen for your experience? How will it assist you in achieving your goals? What do you want to gain from your experience abroad personally, professionally, and academically? (limit 500 characters)
- How will you engage, give back, and promote international experiences to students in the CAS and on campus upon your return? (limit 500 characters)
- Please describe your financial situation and explain in detail how a scholarship might assist you in supporting your education abroad experience. Please include an estimated budget for your upcoming trip of estimated expenses and resources you currently have and do not have to cover such expenses. (limit 1000 characters)
For Staff/Faculty
Study abroad funding opportunities are provided by donor funding. If a College of Arts and Sciences faculty-led study abroad trip is in need of funding, please fill out the following form. Funding inquires will be evaluated by the Dean’s Office and other appropriate parties for approval of use of funding. Upon evaluation of application, someone from the Development team will reach out to provide follow up of the funding request based on the decision made.

Faculty or staff must submit an application by 5:00 PM of the deadline dates listed above to be eligible for funding opportunities for their requested term.
The application will consist of several questions. Please be prepared to answer these questions upon application submission:
- Please provide detailed reasoning for this need for program funding. Please note this reasoning will be evaluated by the Dean’s Office and all necessary parties to see if funds can be provided for this purpose.
Funding Approval
If funding is approved by all appropriate parties, the faculty should promote and recruit students to complete the College of Arts and Sciences Student Study Abroad application (link to above), as a completed application is required for all students to receive funding. Funds will not be provided to students in the program without student applications of the College of Arts and Sciences Study Abroad Scholarship application.
