Three CAS faculty with rich teaching experience are among the 2022 WSU Showcase awardees.
Keri McCarthy, professor in the School of Music, will deliver this year’s Distinguished Faculty Address. McCarthy has built global awareness of music from Asia and the United States and earned international acclaim as a chamber musician, soloist, teacher, and clinician.
Along with McCarthy, history faculty Jesse Spohnholz and Kenneth Faunce have been recognized for teaching excellence and their outstanding dedication to student success. Spohnholz received the Sahlin Faculty Excellence Award for instruction and Faunce received the President’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
“Please join me in congratulating and celebrating these outstanding members of our academic community,” said Provost and Executive Vice President Elizabeth Chilton. All of the Showcase awardees “have contributed greatly to their disciplines and to the university. They have made key discoveries, found creative ways to solve pressing world problems, helped our students to achieve their best, and made WSU and the world a better place.”
Awardees will be recognized during Showcase week, an annual spring series of events that celebrate academic excellence. A complete list of award recipients and schedule of events on the Showcase website.
