The Department of Anthropology was recently recognized by WSU Office of Assessment for Curriculum Effectiveness (ACE) for its exceptional assessment projects, which have led to revised undergraduate curricula, instruction, assignments, and/or faculty and teaching assistant development.
The WSU Office of Assessment for Curriculum Effectiveness (ACE) selects top programs typically every two years. This year’s cohort of eight academic programs were selected because they collected and reviewed data from direct measures of student learning collected near the end of the curriculum, used this evidence to guide curriculum or instruction decisions, and engaged faculty in the decision-making or implementation.
“We appreciate the work that faculty and leadership do every day at WSU to support effective program assessment,” said Lindsey Brown, ACE director.
Chair and Professor Andrew Duff and Assistant Professor Nanda Grow represented the department at an awards ceremony co-hosted by ACE, the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President, and the Division of Academic Engagement and Student Achievement in early November.
In total, eight programs from four colleges across the WSU system were recognized for their high-quality assessment programs.
