Fourteen faculty, six staff, and seven graduate students were honored for outstanding achievement at the fourth annual College of Arts and Sciences Appreciation and Recognition Social, held on Thursday, April 14, 2016, in the CUB ballroom.

Gerald Berthiaume, professor of music and an acclaimed pianist, received the college’s Distinguished Faculty award in recognition of his exemplary 27-year career as an educator, collaborator, and performer. He recently released his second solo album, Struck by Lightning, on the peer-reviewed WSU Recordings label.

“Our annual awards celebrate exceptional individual accomplishments as well as our shared spirit of inquiry and commitment to excellence,” said Daryll DeWald, dean of the college and master of ceremonies for the event.
