Outstanding Seniors

The 2019 College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Seniors will be honored at a reception on Friday, May 3, 2019. Everyone is welcome to attend!


To recognize and honor outstanding undergraduate senior students who have excelled in academic performance and service to the department/school/program, the university and/or community during their academic career at Washington State University.  One student from each academic degree in the College of Arts and Sciences will be recognized:

Eligibility Criteria

  • College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate students who will graduate in spring/summer/fall of 2019.
  • Documented record of outstanding academic performance and valuable contributions or service to the department/school/program, Washington State University and/or the community during their undergraduate studies at WSU.

Nomination Process

Individual nominations must be submitted to the nominee’s chair or director (or their designee) for consideration and endorsement. Nominators should check with the appropriate chair or director for the department’s nomination procedure, documents, and deadline.

An optional nomination form is available for use within the department.

Submission Process

Each undergraduate degree program selects its Outstanding Senior from the nominations received by the unit’s chair or director. Academic unit chairs and directors are responsible for completing the final submission form by the college deadline of February 15, 2019.

Additional honors

All Outstanding Senior finalists will be reviewed by the College of Arts and Sciences for consideration of special recognition at the spring and fall commencement ceremonies.

Departments may wish to use this optional form in order to allow faculty and staff to nominate students to be considered for this honor. Completed forms should be submitted to the academic unit chair/director by the unit’s internal deadline. This form is not to be considered as a final submission, only as an optional tool to be used within your academic unit. Please contact the academic unit directly for deadline details.

Final Submission

Once the 2019 Outstanding Senior has been determined, please use this form to submit the final name by Friday, Feb. 15, 2019.
