Staff Career Awards

Three awards honor career achievement by CAS staff members.

Outstanding Career Achievement

Recognizes and honors staff members who exemplify excellence in performing their individual duties, demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, and who inspire excellence in others.

Specific eligibility: Full-time staff in the College of Arts and Sciences who at the time of nomination have been employed at Washington State University for 16 years or more in an administrative professional and/or civil service position(s).

Nomination packet should include:

  • A broad description (limit of two pages) of why the nominee is deserving of the award. Cite specific examples of relevant accomplishments, service, and recognition. Focus on the impact of the nominee’s work within the unit, across the institution, in external communities, and/or on students as appropriate.
  • Additional documentation of outstanding accomplishments in professional activity or service as appropriate.
  • At least one letter of support or testimonial from a peer or faculty member is required.
  • Resume limit: 10 pages.

Mid-Career Achievement

Recognizes and honors staff members who exemplify excellence in performing their individual duties, demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, and who inspire excellence in others.

Specific eligibility: Full-time staff in the College of Arts and Sciences who at the time of nomination have been employed at Washington State University for a minimum of 6 years and no more than 15 years in an administrative professional and/or civil service position(s).

Nomination packet should include:

  • A broad description (limit of two pages) of why the nominee is deserving of the award. Cite specific examples of relevant accomplishments, service, and recognition. Focus on the impact of the nominee’s work within the unit, across the institution, in external communities, and/or on students as appropriate.
  • Additional documentation of outstanding accomplishments in professional activity or service as appropriate.
  • At least one letter of support or testimonial from a peer, faculty member, or student is required.
  • Resume limit: 5 pages.

Early Career Achievement

Recognizes and honors staff members who exemplify excellence in performing their individual duties, demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, and inspire excellence in others.

Specific eligibility: Full-time staff in the College of Arts and Sciences who at the time of nomination are within the first five years of employment at Washington State University in an administrative professional and/or civil service position(s).

Nomination packet should include:

  • A broad description (limit of two pages) of why the nominee is deserving of the award. Cite specific examples of relevant accomplishments, service, and recognition. Focus on the impact of the nominee’s work within the unit, across the institution, in external communities, and/or on students as appropriate.
  • Additional documentation of outstanding accomplishments in professional activity or service as appropriate.
  • At least one letter of support or testimonial from a peer, faculty member, or student is required.
  • Resume limit: 5 pages.

Interdisciplinary Catalyst

Recognizes a faculty or staff who have demonstrated the sustained capacity to bring colleagues together across disciplinary and institutional boundaries in service of shared accomplishments in research, scholarly and creative activity, and/or teaching.

Specific eligibility: Full-time faculty and staff, regardless of rank.

Nomination packet should include:

  • A broad description (limit of two pages) of why the nominee is deserving of the award. Cite specific examples of relevant accomplishments and recognition.
  • At least one letter of support or testimonial from a peer, student, and/or external constituent is required.
