Websites

The WSU WordPress online content management system (CMS) includes templates for brand-approved layouts and styling. WordPress offers an easy-to-use interface as well as a document library, media gallery, and online form generator.

Support and Guidance

CAS Communications provides assistance to academic units and affiliated centers in creating, managing, and revising websites. We can assist with navigation and structure, audience identification, general best practices, website traffic analysis, proofreading or editing of content, and limited WordPress training for unit personnel.

Beyond websites for academic units or centers, the University offers two WSU domains for websites dedicated to research faculty and other organizations:

labs.wsu.edu

The “lab.wsu.edu” domain provides active research faculty with a unique URL and the opportunity to highlight their work, resources, and students. Significant freedom of design is available within the WSU WordPress system.

Examples:

Plant Cell Biology

Optical Spin Polarization & Magnetic Resonance

Complex Social Interactions Lab

Aquatic Ecology

Request your labs.wsu.edu website thought the WSU Web Communications online form.

hub.wsu.edu

This domain is similar to the former “~public” URL addresses and is available for faculty groups, class-specific websites, student clubs and activities, and personal websites for WSU employees.

Examples:

Physics Demonstrations

Kamiak High Performance Computing Club

Physics labs (101,102, 201, 202)

Complete an online service request with the WSU Web group to get started.

Website Accessibility

Website owners are responsible for ensuring that content on their website(s) are accessible in conformance with Executive Policy #7, and all content publishers at the University must participate in annual web accessibility training before publishing content online.

Visit Web Communication to learn more about website accessibility and to take the Required Accessibility Training

Important: This training must be completed yearly.
