Debbie Brudie’s administrative career at WSU is truly exceptional. She joined the staff in 1983 as a secretary and soon moved into fiscal roles. Ever since being hired by the Department of Psychology in 1989, she has been contributing to the efficiency and financial health of academic and service units now housed in the College of Arts and Sciences

She has an eye for detail and a memory for policies, people, and protocols. Her knowledge of the University is invaluable, as is her understanding of effective office organization, roles, and structure.

In her current position with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Debbie applied her expertise in managing finances, creating procedures, and motivating staff to spur the department’s transition into a robust and cohesive unit.

In addition to improving fiscal reporting for the department, she streamlined grant management, instituted regular communications, and established procedures whereby staff feel valued and heard. She also played a major role in managing the complex transition to Workday.

Debbie’s dedication to the success of the team, her desire to continue learning, and her trademark honesty are qualities that have enabled her to shine every step of her career.
