Turning community service into state law
jstewardAs a sophomore, Aydan Garland-Miner (’22) founded the WSU chapter of PERIOD, a nonprofit organization that provides support for those who face period poverty. Three years of events, workshops, emails, and distribution events later, she found herself on a Zoom call with members of the Washington State for Menstrual Equity Coalition, watching Gov. Jay Inslee sign House Bill 1273 into law.
